Breeze Building

As we go into the second night at sea the SE breeze has gone east and is building with gusts to 20 knots in the past half hour. We are 5nm off the shore line of K’gari (Fraser Island) as we track NW and the top end of the sand spit, before bearing away for Lady Musgrave 66nm NW of our position.

Our crew of Matt, Kurt, Keryn, Kirk, Ken, David, Tony, Taku and myself (David) have settled into our watches and daily responsibilities well. It’s been a gorgeous evening on the water and another great sunset and Silver Fern is now gliding through the night at 7 - 8.5 knots in the comfortable reaching conditions.
